Over the past six years it has been revealed that several well-regarded classic masterworks of literature were actually authored by house cats. For reasons unknown, publishers of these books determined that it was in the best interest of the product to keep the true author's identity secret. Here are some of my favourite novels that have now been revealed to be written by a housecat.
This virtuosic novel about wealthy patients convalescing in a mountain retreat was in fact written by a spotted Manx that was deaf in one ear, named Oscar.

In hindsight, The Trial's unforgettable descriptions of the labyrinthine nature of bureaucracy - with its inefficiency, lack of accountability and rife incompetence - could only have been written by a house cat. What other shrewd observer of human behavior could know us so completely? The Trial was written by a Turkish Angora named Coco, who later contracted tuberculosis and drank herself to death while gun running in the Dutch East Indies.

This incredibly powerful novel which gives us Raskolnikov looking "like the cat who ate the canary" had about as much connection to Dostoyevsky as chicken has to a McNugget. In reality, Crime and Punishment was authored by a chatty charcoal Siamese, named Chloe. Cat lore says that Chloe spent 10 years writing the book and, as a result, developed two arthritic front paws.

Who we once knew as Charles Baudelaire was actually a hyperactive copper Persian with white paws, named Bella. Bella wrote most of her major works while residing in Hoboken, New Jersey with a family with the surname Heisenschmaltz. She was eventually put out of the house for clawing up the furniture and lived out the last of her days as a stray scrounging for food.
