Okay, so the adorable dog on the cover drew me in. Poor Otto - Klam's first dog - launches the author's life-long interest in dogs and dog rescue, though he is hardly the focus of the narrative. Klam proves to be a rather delightfully neurotic Boston Terrier lover; her experiences illustrate the maxim that the love you put out there comes back tenfold. The tone of the book is mostly bemused, but there are surprising moments of poignancy too. A fun read.
