I enjoyed this book as it provided me with newfound knowledge about the autistic community. Michael McCreary did a good job explaining many things about what it’s like to navigate this modern world as a person with autism directly through a person with autism’s point of view. It opened my eyes to some new things I’ve never known about people with autism. I really enjoyed how In-depth he went on some topics like extreme sensory and stimming. My big takeaway was that us neurotypicals should definitely be respectful and more knowledgeable of people with autism as they have gone through more than we know. I definitely would recommend this to people with and without autism as everyone should have an awareness about this disorder. @Kia of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library There is only one thing that separates this book from other autism books, but it is a very big thing. Unlike other books about autism, Funny, You Don’t Look Autistic isn’t about autism, people who have it, and strategies for coping with it. Instead, it’s about the life experiences of someone who has autism, how he sowed with the disadvantages of it, and how he excelled because of it. It’s taking a serious topic and having some fun with it, all the while respecting autistic people and their friends and family. It educates others, and it tells others that they are not alone and that while some things might be more of a challenge for them everything is going to turn out all right. And for that, I can’t give it anything other than a ten out of ten. @R2-D2 of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
