I loved this. There's nothing subtle about Spike Lee and I like that about him, he makes movies about what he knows. Yes, the movie has some things added for extra dramatic effect, it's 'based' on a true story, that doesn't mean it's 100% accurate and that's okay, he's not the first or the last director to do this. The scenes at the end of the movie made me cry. It really hit home that the world we live in today is not much different to that of the 70's. We have made some progress but obviously have A LOT more to do.
We are all responsible citizens of this world and should call out racism, fascism, antisemitism, sexism etc when we see it happen, only then will the world truly change.
