"Largely unheard, criminally undocumented, but at their core, utterly revolutionary, the recordings of the diverse North American Aboriginal community will finally take their rightful place in our collective history in the form of Native North America (Vol. 1): Aboriginal Folk, Rock, and Country 1966-1985. An anthology of music that was once near-extinct and off-the-grid is now available for all to hear, in what is, without a doubt, Light In The Attic's most ambitious and historically significant project in the label's 12-year journey."

A fantastic collection of songs by artist that needed to be heard. I am happy I randomly took a chance. The book that comes with this 2-CD collection was also a great read. Enjoy!

This certainly raises the bar for Canadian music. Finally some songwriters singing very hard truths...just as music is supposed to go. The opening track to the double disc set--I Pity the Country by Montréaler Willie Dunn--sums up the state of affairs for Indigenous peoples. Willie Thrasher's voice might be one of Canada's best. I'll certainly be looking into acquiring his full albums.

Staggeringly great music and detailed liner notes. Lots of records claim that they will change your life; this one actually might.
