So bad it stinks. I'm honestly confused by all of you giving positive reviews, maybe I missed something? Kind of a horror movie, not my thing to begin with, but also completely failed to engage me in spite of perfectly competent actors, a good original premise, and expensive special effects. It's just stupid. If you like the pretty star you should go to the bonus features.

I found this movie to be very entertaining even though it was a much different story line than I expected. The films change of the Dracula story was great and made it fun to watch. I didn’t want to watch the same Dracula story again and the fact that it's totally different is the best thing about the movie. It is not at all the traditional Dracula story. If you are strictly into facts and keeping the original story lines then you won’t like it but if you're looking for a new twist on the story than it’s great. Vlad played by Luke Evans did a great job and so did the rest of the cast. Lots of action and overall a great movie to watch. I would recommend it. 4/5 Stars. @McRee of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Grim, but well made. There are lots of neat bits of lore that get explored here, and viewers are treated to a sympathetic version of the Dracula legend. The movie title is a tad nonsensical, and I get the impression this movie will sadly never get the sequel it actually deserves.

This movie had too many NIGHT TIME , DARK, SCENES which made it very hard to see the actions going on within it.... The overall story, plot told, and 'twist', on the old fabled , Dracula tale was alright but the filming on set was very hard to see and maneuver thru: the day time filming scope was fine. Thx.

I'm not a fan of period movies but this was very well done. It was also a unique approach to a story retold numerous times.

Good CGI. Interesting early Dracula concept. The story was missing something to keep me glued to the movie 100%.

I knew that it wasn't a good movie, but I got it from the library anyway, hoping for good special effects. Special effects are Ok, but not good enough to suffer through the stupidest plot (The movie didn't do justice both to the history and the legend), bad acting ( actors believe that acting equals making googly eyes), Turks in Russian armour. etc. No horror to talk about, nothing scary at all. So I decided to stop watching it somewhere in the middle of the movie. I can recommend it only to lovers of Harlequin romances - they will be able to enjoy lots of nude well-toned flesh, mostly male, lots of pretty men, I mean pretty, not handsome, just the kind you see on the covers of Harlequin romances. So if you are one of them - go for this movie.

Best two quotes:
1. Time is always too short for those who need it. But for those who love... last forever.
2. Sometimes the world no longer needs a hero. Sometimes what it needs... is a monster.

Master Vampire: I have been waiting an eternity for a man of your strength to arrive. But what kind of man crawls into his own grave in search of hope?
Vlad: A desperate one.
