From the acclaimed author of Maybe One Day, Melissa Kantor, comes a poignant coming-of-age story that skillfully captures the singular experience of being a teenage girl. This beautifully woven tale will appeal to fans of Jenny Han and Sarah Dessen.

Juliet Newman has it all. A picture-perfect family; a handsome, loving boyfriend; and a foolproof life plan: ace her SATs, get accepted into Harvard early decision, and live happily ever after.

But when her dad moves out and her mom loses it, Juliet begins questioning the rules she's always lived by. And to make everything even more complicated there's Declan, the gorgeous boy who makes her feel alive and spontaneous--and who's totally off-limits. Torn between the life she always thought she wanted and one she never knew was possible, Juliet begins to wonder: What if perfect isn't all it's cracked up to be?

This was one of the only books that made me feel all gushy inside. I know that may sound corny, but if you read it, you would realize that it is not your typical romance novel. Melissa Kantor couldn’t have done better, as it was too good to be true. This novel is based on the perfect life of Juliet Newman. Juliet has it all; from a picture perfect family, to a handsome loving boyfriend to a foolproof life plan of acing her SATs and getting into Harvard early action and living happily ever after, that is until her mom loses it and her plan goes downwards. This novel tells the story of a young woman finding herself through the flaws in her life. It brings tears, fluttering butterflies that make you shiver all over, and different feels that no other book can give you. As the title itself says, the novel was way better than perfect, as I would rate it a 10/10. Being a very cliché less book made it all the more relatable. In fact I was able to feel the different feelings through the way Melissa Kantor described each detail, making the story unique. If you’re looking for a read that keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you feel like you are the very character within the book, this is the novel for you. So without a delay, I suggest you run over to the library and pick this book up as it shouldn’t be waited upon. So hurry!
