This is a 2011 Brazilian drama directed by Cao Hamburger.
The film tells the Villas-Bôas brothers trajectory from the moment in which they joined the Roncador-Xingu expedition, part of the Westward March of Getúlio Vargas, in 1943.
Xingu peoples are indigenous peoples of Brazil living near the Xingu River---a southeast tributary of the Amazon.
They have many cultural similarities despite their different ethnologies.
Xingu people represent fifteen tribes and all four of Brazil's indigenous language groups, but they share similar belief systems, rituals and ceremonies.
This is an inspiring true story to protect the indigenous people.

Fascinating true story!

Interesting, suspenseful, and quite stark at times as this historical true story of the Villas Boas brothers help protect some mysterious indigenous South American Amazon tribes from modern oppressive interloping polluters, the leftovers from foreign colonization. Unfortunately, the Villas Boas brothers were not able to do more to help, but they did help save some indigenous tribes by creating the Xingu National Park. Great acting, nice scenery sometimes, and script.
