Every day, in a house by the sea, a little boy watches his father leave for a long day's work. One night, a great storm washes a small whale onto the beach. The boy discovers the whale is a good listener. The father discovers the boy is lonely. Together, they return the whale to the sea. And from that day on, the boy learns that the father can be a good listener too, in Benji Davies's heartwarming tale, The Storm Whale.

Lovely illustrations complement this tale of a lonely father-son relationship and a sweet, lost little whale.

Absolutely perfect book. Simple and very kind story.

This lovely book by Benji Davies has heart as big as a whale. I love his gouache illustrations and especially the page of Papa in the kitchen making jam with bread and little Noi painting a whale tale. Sweet sweet sweet.

Sweet book! Enjoyable read for both my daughter (age 4, whale enthusiast) and I. Nicely illustrated. Definitely considering buying to add to her library.

I had to read this quiet, lovely book a couple of times through to get all the undercurrents. But after I did, it became one of my favorite books of the month.
