A very real adventure in the footsteps of Shackleton. Completely isolated from outside help, the ships crew winters over in Antarctica expecting a protective freeze that does not come. Moored in a small rockbound inlet of a bay, they are caught by a sudden storm. Real footage of the anxiety on board as they have to literally cut mooring lines before they go onto the rocks. Lots of wonderful footage of ice and wildlife. I liked the little bits of humanity shown as they attempt to keep their sanity in close quarters onboard during the endless hours of darkness and cold.

A very well done documentary. This movie was interesting, informative, and worse seeing!! I recommend this movie for all to see. Well worth the price of admission to any theater.
