The TARDIS brings the Doctor and his friends Ben and Polly to the South Pole in the year 1986. Their arrival coincides with the appearance of Earth's forgotten twin planet Mondas and visitors from that world-emotionless beings called Cybermen. It₂s up to the Doctor and his friends to stop these creatures before they convert Earth₂s population into similar cyber creations-but the encounter will have a devastating effect on the Doctor.

An ok story that I feel pressure to like better because of the introduction of the cybermen, the first regeneration and so forth. Interesting location and sets. I didn't find the story too memorable though.

Good story given then special effects. Nice transition scene from first to second doctor.
