Joby, is a struggling musician having flirted with fame but never crossed over into true success. He also hasn't been around to be a father, so he takes an overnight long-distance drive in order to fight his estranged wife for custody of their young daughter, Ellen. A story of internal transformation and also a very poignant account of the complexities of the father/daughter relationship.

I may not have given this enough time, but I found it boring.

Through flashbacks, we learn how a somewhat narcissistic young man chose his potential music career over family and when his life was somewhat in shambles he sought to determine if that had been an incorrect choice. The interactions between he and his very young daughter were very moving. I would have liked the film more if there had been a little more time spent viewing this interaction rather than his destructive or senseless behavior. Maybe it was too difficult to film with the young child actor.
