I'm very surprised by the good feedback this book got, I've tried 6 recipes out of it and I've only liked one, but my husband did not at all. It was the chili relleno fresco. I also tried the chickeny bullion (it burnt), the faux mashed potatoes stunk up the house and I tossed them, super simple roasted veggies (gross), Spanish quinoa was bland and flavorless and the Indian greens with chickpeas was not good either. I've been a vegetarian for years and am a pretty good cook, I'm trying to find a faster way to make dinner. I've never struck out with a cook book like this before.

This book is for primarily for people who work and just want to come home and eat. After commute traffic, who feels like spending time in the kitchen? I love this book, and she writes that if you don't want to cook the onions beforehand, you don't have to. It's nice to come home to the smell of something delicious that's ready to eat. I'm going to buy this book.

I have made several recipes from this book and been very pleased with the results. I love making granola in the crock pot, but a word of warning: you do have to stir every 10 minutes and i felt mine was done at about 2.5 hours instead of 3-4.

I've just been browsing the recipes in this book and I already LOVE it! The recipes are clear and concise, with gluten-free and soy-free labels. The auther offers conversions, storage, tips and other ideas.

As a busy Mom to three children, this book will be essential. The slow cooker saves so much time, these recipes are very quick, easy and best of all CHEAP. This is definately going on my must buy list. I will be renewing it again and again in the meantime.

For the lazy cook, there are at least 2 recipes that take 5-10 minutes of preparation (vegetable soup and creamed potato soup), which I tried. With the vegetable soup recipe which I have done twice, I found that using a wide range of frozen vegetables (peas, corn, carrot, onion, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and okra) made it taste better. The other recipes involved more prep work such as frying onions, so I did not attempt them.
