My gosh ... I feel like I must've been reading a different book. I found it distasteful in the extreme, as the main character played on all the familiar female tropes of just not being honest -- working very hard at justifying herself. I had to stop reading. Blech :-( There's romantic' and then there's just plain stereotyping.

I read this book a few years ago after my divorce and it really helped me believe in true romance and connection again. It’s a sweet story and based on her true love story. I recommend it to anyone that wants a romantic pick me up.

Wonderfully fun, sweet and 'clean' contemporary/cowboy/romantic comedy

What a sweet, fun[LOL,FUN]exciting[as in sparks flying passion],courtship they had.
I totally loved reading their story, and this book is going on my list of favorites.
I thought the book was excellently written, and such a fun read that when I wasn't lol,to myself I had a huge grin.Since it reminds me so very much of my own courtship with my late hubby of 30 years, her writing and her story felt very real/genuine to me,and I am another that seems to have unfortunate/embarassing incidents happen,so I could sooo relate!

Thank you so much Mrs.Drummond for sharing your wonderful story, and for sharing the passion of you and your Marlboro Man,yet managing to keep it a nice clean read. You proved that it can be done.

Hopefully, if you ever find yourself with enough free time, you will start writing some cowboy,romantic-comedy fiction. There just isn't enough cowboy romance novels out there, that are clean reads without being full of religious proselytizing/god-talk!

Highly recommended!

I read my library's copy, but will definitely be purchasing my own copy!

A very endearing love story, i have not seen any of her cooking shows not read her blog but this autobiography was one of those that you can't put down and don't want it to end.

This one's for ladies who like their romance sweet 'n' clean, who enjoy all the details of wedding planning and honeymoon mishaps. And if you've ever suffered from excessive perspiration or severe morning sickness, you'll find some comfort here as well. A pleasant-enough story -- but I'm glad I borrowed the book instead of paying for it.

I enjoyed reading a modern day love story. It was so nice reading her story...

A pleasant, fluffy piece of work that reads like a romance novel, based on the author's blog, which in turn is based on her real-life city-slicker meets sexy cowboy scenario. .

I am as neurotic as most women about my appearance. However, it was startling and sad to read about Drummond's degree of shame and self-consciousness about her appearance and bodily functions.

Lightweight syrupy romance. Perfect for when you want a one-day read - and for when you need a story about an unrealistically perfect man.

I have not ever seen the blog but I still found the book repetitive.

I dared to try the chicken spaghetti recipe in the back and it was actually pretty good!

Breaking up with her LA boyfriend, and feeling disenchanted with the city, Ree Drummond decides to move to Chicago. On her way she stops in to spend some time with her parents in Oklahoma. Just before she leaves, she meets her Marlboro Man, and although she is entirely smitten, does she want to drop her dream of the city for a life on a cattle ranch?

Obviously she does and the book describes in hilarious detail all that she and he go through to be together. Ree has since gone on to become a well recognized blogger, and this book is the outcome of people wanting to know the story behind this city lover living on the Oklahoma plains with her cowboy. Included on the final pages are a number of recipes guaranteed to satisfy the cowboy in everyone.

Breezy, funny, light and heart warming, I enjoyed this story, and although it is considered a non-fiction memoir, I suspect there might be a little glitz and gloss added here and there. Reads like a chick-lit novel, but entirely entertaining and enjoyable.
