I have to say that I like this book very much. When a heart broken man, Charles Waterson finds out that his marriage of 9 years is over because his wife has fallen in love with a much older man, he doesn't know what to do with his own life. He leaves London and returns to New York and finds that he is not happy with his job or himself. He takes a six month leave of absence from his job and decides to go skiing in Vermont. A snow storm halts his travels and he ends up staying in a bed and breakfast run by an elderly widow. She shows him a house that has been in her family for years that is suppose to be haunted. He rents the house for one year and the first night sees the ghost of Sarah Ferguson. He finds her diaries and starts reading them and cannot seem to stop. Her story made me laugh and cry at times. He also meets a woman who has had a similar life of marriage and deception by her spouse. Can either one of them find happiness and love again. This is the type of book that you will not want to put down until the end.
