Family is about love no matter how different parents and children may be, adopted or not.

Choco wishes he had a mother, but who could she be? He sets off to find her, asking all kinds of animals, but he doesn't meet anyone who looks just like him. He doesn't even think of asking Mrs. Bear if she's his mother-but then she starts to do just the things a mommy might do. And when she brings him home, he meets her other children-a piglet, a hippo, and an alligator-and learns that families can come in all shapes and sizes and still fit together.

Keiko Kasza's twist on the "Are you my mother?" theme has become one of the most highly recommended stories about adoption for children.

This little yellow bird sets off to find a mother who looks like him. He is surprised to find that a mother can take an unexpected form.

Cheer for Choco as he searches for the mother that loves him just the way he is.

Excellent heartfelt story about a little yellow bird looking for his mother but finds a caring mother in a big brown bear when he realizes his mother doesn't have to look just like him. Creates a wonderful opportunity for parents/grandparents to start a dialog about why some children don't look like their parents - whether its due to adoption or bi-racial parents.

Every childs library should have this book, hands down. Santa will be bring our copy to our home this year.

this is a lovely book for pre-schoolers. Too bad SPL only has one copy. I doubted I would get the one copy in time for 'storytime', so I checked BPL - they have 8 copies of this book. Perhaps Surrey could get a couple more copies in the future ? Thank you.

The best childrens book I've come across concerning the subject matter of adoption. It's really fabulous.
