Opinion

From Library Staff

If you've ever wondered what Charlotte Bronte was actually like this novel is for you. Quieter but written with the same type of poetics that makes Jane Eyre so enjoyable.

Beautifully written.

What a disappointment! This book is tagged as a novel, but it is a poor one. I wanted to like it because I am such a devoted fan of Bronte's Jane Eyre. How sad that this author chose to write a novel about her that only makes her appear common and dull. I cannot recommend this book.

A fictionalized account of the period when Jane Eyre was written. The author lacks indepth knowledge of the Brontes. Yet another example of "pushing the present into the past".
