This is the first great Beatles record, and we folks in North America had to wait for this re release in 1997 to hear it. Most of the Beatles stuff was re configured from it's British releases to fit our listening patterns here in N.A or more likely some Capital records bigwig idea of what would sell. If you still have the old copies, pick up the re released stuff to hear how much better the original releases were.
Decent enough album. This is early Beatles of course but still good. One of two numbers seem to have a country feel to them, especially when Ringo is involved.
I just listened to "Please Please Me" (released 2 years earlier) right before this, and it was amazing how far the Beatles' songwriting and musical skills had advanced in such a short time.
