I liked it. It reminded me of the Luxe series a bit and there were parts of the story that were serious and some that were funny. My favourite character has to be Alex though. She's the anti-marriage, anti-love soul sister that I wish was real, really relatable character and made me enjoy this book more than I thought I would.

I really enjoyed this novel and was a good book that i finished in one morning. It provided some entertaining holiday reading, perfect for a rainy day. I would like to read more of Sarah maclean's books. I enjoyed that it was set in the olden days. I also found the scenes involving Alex's brothers to be hilarious :D

Regency romance can be a great thing. Regency mystery plus romance, even better. This particular example of the genre, however, is not the best. There's not enough mystery and too much "romance." I put romance in quotes because it's not really the excitement of love the author conveys so much as how annoying teenagers can be when they angst about every little thing their crush does all day. I would look up and yell "Seriously? Come on!" when I was reading the romantic dialogue. It made me want to bang my head against a convenient wall. But there is a fluffy, fun element to this book.

Lovely clean taste of historical romance for the non-saucily inclined.

Fun read. More action than some & gal-pals were diverse and complementary. Good balance between romance and action plot and historical fiction.

I loved this book! It definitely isn't the best book ever written, but it is extremely enjoyable and hilarious (esp. the scenes with Alex's brothers, haha XD)! It's lighthearted, romantic, and maybe a little too obvious sometimes-- but it is a perfect summer, vacation, or boring-day read. Two thumbs up!

Wow! What a great book! I loved the fact that it wasn't a typical Regency England novel... Does anyone know anymore books like this?

I literally stayed up all night reading The Season! I couldn't put this book down and now I love Sarah Maclean even more. Every character, even the villain, was vibrant and real. I loved every single one of them: Alex, Ella, Vivi, Gavin, Will, Nick, Kit, etc. This is a perfect read for anyone who likes a little romance, adventure, and snark all rolled into their book. I was practically laughing out loud the whole time because of all the great lines from each character, Alex's brothers especially provided lots of laughs along with Freddie, one of Alex's old friends. Even all the parents were excellent characters! I love the historical setting of 1815 London. The Season is easily accessible to the contemporary reader. I will be highly recommending this book from now on and I'm so glad I finally read it!

This is an excellent Regency novel. I thought that the confusion that Alex felt in terms of her transitioning relationship was very well. The characters are very well written and I want to see what happens with her two best friends, Ella and Vivi.

Three spunky friends, Ella, Vivi and Alexandra, endure their first Season, but all the overbearing parents and unwelcome suitors pale in comparison to a real, live mystery that might involve national security! The spy may be related to one of the girls' oldest and dearest friends - Gavin, Earl of Blackmoor - who is quickly becoming more than a friend to Alexandra.
