Add a CommentI skimmed over for nutrition ideas but prefer a different Galloway book for 5K to 10K training. His interval training, which is terrifically successful, is a very valuable tool. I was able to increase from 3 miles runs to 5 miles and end up smiling and feeling good. So, forget huffing and puffing- intervals are the way to work smarter, not harder.
I have never written a review but I have to say this book was terrible. Here is the main thought "don't exercise so hard that your are huffing and puffing"
This book is for beginner runners and walkers. If you have any running experience, are interested in increasing running times, or are looking for a book describing proper nutrition for intense training, this book is not for you.
This book was very easy to read and did offer some good advice on how to lose fat while running. However, the authors clearly have little knowledge of basic physiology because there are some glaring errors in the metabolism section.
