I think the Japanese setting would have worked a lot better in a play than a movie. At least, if Kenneth Branagh wanted to set it in Japan he should have used Asian actors for the country dweller roles.

Still, it's hard to criticize an overall decent Shakespearean film adaptation too much. Kevin Kline steals the show.

I really enjoyed this adaptation, although I'm not sure if being set in Japan was really necessary. However, it was well acted and the comedy really came through.

This movie is amazing! One of my favorites of all time. It makes me laugh throughout it. Celia is so funny and dramatic, it makes me laugh even when she's in the background of a scene. I love Shakespearian comedy!
