Just about the time you think you get the crime plot, another layer is added, and this process continues layer after layer. Just like peeling an onion, layer after layer. This was the smartest crime film that I have seen in a long time. Some compare it to a Martin Scorsese crime film. Note how the ending is similar to the other great UK crime film “Get Carter.”

I liked this movie quite a lot. I thought it was well acted as well as written well. Although i do have to say it does seem a bit of a Guy Ritchie rip off. It's dry in a few scenes, but as a whole i thought it fun.

I made the mistake of walking away from the tv to talk to someone for a minute.... this is a movie that you really have to pay attention to or you will be easily confused!

Confusing at times, but a good thriller.

Layer Cake ---- by: Based on the novel "Layer cake" by J.J. Connolly; screenplay by J.J. Connolly ---- (R) Rating ----
---- ---- Performers: Daniel Craig, Colm Meaney, Kenneth Cranham, George Harris, Jamie Foreman, Marcel Iures, Michael Gambon.---- ---- ---- This Show/Movie starts being funny from the start and has an (R) rating for a very good reason. As the main player that wanted to retire and is manipulated into unloading a masive amount of Ecstasy (the Drug), this show starts rolling right along. ---- I laughed Allot ---- Pay attention in the beginning. ---- Good Show. ---- Enjoy! ---- RichardPaul

If you are a fan of Guy Ritchie's Lock Stock and Snatch, you'll probably like this...Matthew Vaughn, the other half of Guy Ritchie made this movie...fewer antics, and more story telling...easy to tell that Daniel Craig was on his way to stardom...and Sienna Miller...her blond looks get in the way of her being recognized as a one of the best younger actresses of the UK

I really enjoyed this movie, and felt that Daniel Craig did some of his best work in this film. I would recommend this movie to any fan of gangster movies.

XXXX: Always remember that one day all this drug monkey business will be legal. They won't leave it to people like me... not when they finally figure out how much money is to be made - not millions, f**king billions. Recreational drugs PLC - giving the people what they want... Good times today, Stupor tomorrow. But this is now, so until prohibition ends make hay whilst the sun shines.
