"I'm going to name them Squirrelkit and Leafkit" said Sandstorm. 'Squirrelkit for the she-cats red fluffy tail and Leafkit after Leafstar' Firestar thought.
"That's not why you were sent here. You told me that a SkyClan ancestor visited you in your dreams. He must have known his Clan was long gone, forced out of the gorge by something even more terrible than their reason for leaving the forest. Yet he still asked you to come. You must right the wrongs your Clan's ancestors did all those seasons ago. You must rebuild SkyClan."

Firestar, leader of ThunderClan, sets off on a harrowing journey to find a long-lost Clan of cats that had been forced to leave the forest many moons ago
Firestar receives a message from StarClan: there was once a fifth Clan in the forest. SkyClan had long ago been driven out when their territory was destroyed by humans. Now, Firestar has been tasked with rebuilding the lost Clan. Accompanied by his mate Sandstorm, he embarks on a heroic journey, encountering unknown land, dangers, and his own questioning faith in StarClan. At the end of his journey, he finds Sky, an old cat whose mother tried to keep the memory of SkyClan alive. Firestar and Sandstorm set about recruiting new cats into the Clan: kittypets and loners. However, they soon discover what had scattered the remains of SkyClan: a pack of rats, led by an intelligent mastermind rat, had attacked them, and now attack them to drive them out. The newly rebuilt SkyClan takes the battle to the rats' home, and win though Rainfur dies, and Firestar loses a life. Finally, Leafdapple is named leader after an omen from Echomist, and Firestar and Sandstorm return home knowing that SkyClan's destiny is in good hands.
