As a joke, a Millenial blogger has a "modest proposal" - give Baby Boomers government incentives to kill themselves by age 75. Washington likes the idea.

The boomers are getting older every day: how will the younger generations be able to afford to pay their huge social security cost? When one young blogger suggests the government offer incentives for people over 75 to kill themselves, this idea becomes both very popular and very frightening. As America ages, Buckley’s novel seems more relevant than ever!

Hilarious and spot-on satire.

A terrifc, entertaining novel from a major satirist. Again Buckley hilariously leads the reader into an extreme Washington situation, which is grounded by his keen knowledge of government, politics and the media. The plot is about a "war" between the Baby Boomer generation and the generations of their children and grand- children over the financing of Social Security, Medicare and reducing the national debt. This is an extremely funny, yet also serious book.

A very funny book, but compared to Bockley's other work, perhaps in the lower-middle of the pack. Still well worth the read if you're looking for something funny.
