The Earth is warming but physical evidence from around the world tells us that human emitted CO2 has played only a minor role in it. Instead, the mild warming seems to be part of a natural 1,500-year climate cycle that goes back at least one million years. Here, the authors present their case for this claim.

S. Fred Singer is a known shill for the fossil fuel industry. In previous years he was a "science" consultant and advocate for the cigarette industry's claims that 2nd hand smoke has no negative health effects.

From my own experience, my ex-sister-inlaw's husband was a chain smoker. After she had a chest X-Ray, her doctor told her not to come back unless she stopped smoking. Yet, she'd never smoked a day in her life.

I wonder what she'd think of a guy like S. Fred Singer.

Meanwhile, not a Big Surprise -

But turns out Exxon knew exactly what they were doing all along.

"Exxon's Own Research Confirmed Fossil Fuels' Role in Global Warming Decades Ago

Top Exxon execs were warned of possible catastrophe from greenhouse effect, BY THEIR OWN SCIENTISTS, then led efforts to block solutions.

Remind you of the Big Tobacco/Cancer story at all? It should. Exxon hired some of the same spinmeisters that Big Tobacco used for years. Our library still carries some of their phony books. And Fred Singer is certainly one of their favorite hacks. Guy even resorts to trying to whitewash his wiki page. Google his lawsuit against wikipedia. It's hilarious!

Meanwhile, unlike Exxon's decades of flat-out lying, Shell Oil finally fessed up and is now asking for a sensible carbon tax to slow the rate of global warming.

“Ben van Beurden, the chief executive of Shell, has endorsed warnings that the world’s fossil fuel reserves cannot be burned unless some way is found to capture their carbon emissions.” This follows a call from six oil and gas companies (Shell included) to put a price on carbon.

Meanwhile, 2014 was the hottest year in modern recorded history. And 2015 already looks to be much hotter than 2014.

Like Big Tobacco's lie about not causing cancer, the jig is almost up for fossil fuels. Burning them creates global warming - PERIOD.

This is one of the 3% of scientists who deny that Global Warming is occurring, is man-made, and is dangerous for all man-kind. The other 97% are not Global Warming deniers. I give the book a half star because we have free speech in America, no matter how dangerous or wacky the ideas. The half star is for the US Bill of Rights, not the book. It is amazing - the vast majority of Amazon commenters just think the book is great with almost all giving it 5 stars.

“Global warming denier Dennis Avery doesn’t know the difference between growth and growth rate” .... http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2009/03/30/203886/global-warming-denier-dennis-avery-mauna-loa-co2-concentrations/

Rant against humankind caused global warming. Interesting "facts" include: clouds are caused by cosmic rays, liberals would have us all starve to stop global warming, cut all the forests and grow crops organically. Actually too many humorous things to mention. If you like right wing talk radio you might like this book.

SUMMARY: Singer and Avery present―in popular language supported by in-depth scientific evidence―the compelling concept that global temperatures have been rising mostly or entirely because of a natural cycle. Using historic data from two millennia of recorded history combined with the natural physical records found in ice cores, seabed sediment, cave stalagmites, and tree rings, Unstoppable Global Warming argues that the 1,500 year solar-driven cycle that has always controlled the earth's climate remains the driving force in the current warming trend.

Trillions of dollars spent on reducing fossil fuel use would have no effect on today's rising temperatures. The public policy key, Singer and Avery propose, is adaptation, not fruitless attempts at prevention. Further, they offer convincing evidence that civilization's most successful eras have coincided with the cycle's warmest peaks. With the added benefit of modern technology, humanity can not only survive global climate change, but thrive.

Trying too hard to claim global warming is just a routine event, not caused by man.
