Rebecca West and H.G. Wells were lovers and had a child together. The biography revolves pointedly around Rebecca as a mother and her relationship with her son as her neurosis and psychotic drive push her in all matters. Well researched and quite detailed. Historically interesting in regards to British life and wealth. I feel I got to know Ms. West on a personal level. She was a very driven and talented writer, if somewhat neurotic. Her life was rich in connections and politic; deep, psychotic, complex.
