Lots of amazing shots of Seattle but otherwise this movie is pretty corny and boring. If you are looking for a truly great 70s movie with some Seattle locations, watch The Parallax View.

NIGHT STALKER did what Bram Stoker did with DRACULA that made it a classic: putting the vampire BELIEVABLY in modern times. NIGHT STRANGLER is more of the same, but with an original storyline. Oh, and much of what you see IS the Seattle Underground. which is pretty cool!

This is the best of The Night Stalker series IMO. The second ABC TV movie-of-the-week picks up where the first one leaves off with Kolchak winding up in 1973 Seattle. The whole premise of government cover ups was a common thread in a lot of 70's film making. Here it's co-opted to ghouls and vampires. A weird pairing would be Michael Small's 'The Parallax View': another paranoid Seattle caper from 1974. Both reflect the Watergate scandal and investigation which ran from 1972-74. What the sequel has over the first TV movie is a sense of humour about the whole thing. The matte shots of Seattle's 'underground city' are laughably obvious but I love that they extended things so the villain could have a proper evil lair. It's all preposterous fun. Plus ... John Carradine drops in. A TV series followed.

This was the pilot movie for the TV series. I thought it was the best show on television before
"The Six Million Dollar Man" and "Wonderwoman". Great for 70s nostalgia; but if you're used to modern vampire movies "Blade" and "Twilight" etc. it's going to seem lame and tame.

Always liked Darren McGavin. Commentary goes down memory lane.
