Pretty good. I'll never look at burial mounds again in quite the same way. But the real oddity is that the setting is South Carolina, yet nobody in the film has a South Carolina accent.

Kevin Costner is so 1-dimensional. He is the same in every film he's ever acted in....if you can call that acting.

At the moment I'm not sure what I'd rate the movie but the comments seem more negative than perhaps is warranted. First, I really liked the house! It did go downhill a bit from there. Certainly Drama/Suspense/Horror isn't really the way to go. The end, well ...

Yet another horror movie allegory for puberty & teen pregnancy, and not particularly well done. The original idea was fairly creative and full of potential, but the visuals and script didn't measure up. It was really a shame to see so many missed opportunities- it could have been strange and stunning, but what we got was lazy and uninspired.

Kevin Costner shouldn't make "horror" movies.(actually, he shouldn't act in ANY movies, but that's my opinion). Regardless, this movie is terribly horrible. Don't even waste time reading the back.

Nothing new in this movie as far as special effects that we haven’t seen 1000 times before. The movie was very cheaply made cheaply acted also in other words, it was a dumb movie.

Just another story about a man whose wife isn't pulling her weight.

Just one more recycled, run of the mill, horror movie.
A family moving into a new home find a burial mound in their vast backyard. Soon after, a family member starts acting strange, the family pet has gone missing only to be found mutilated a few days later and the usual things that go bump in the dark. I was surprised Kevin Costner would lower himself to this level of mundane movie. I picked it up only because he was starring in it thinking it had something different to offer. This movie was not all frightening, just very ordinary.

The title threw me off. It should have been titled, "The Mound". The teen initially had an attitude when the film started, about having to move, her parents break up...& don't forget her cat. She did not become that "new"...just dirty!! Too many unanswered questions, like the school scene and the other student hurting her arm? How did that happen? When did it happen? I was very angry about the ending. The father leaving the young son on his own and in peril, ultimately! When will the calvery arrive!?!?! Dad made a scarafice, but at who's expense! Pay attention to the ending when Sam is at the fence...what is that moving on the tree behind him? Run Sam, Run....
