This book managed to successfully combine Indigenous folklore with supernatural elements and mystery, which made it a very unique young adult novel. As Cole Harper attempts to unravel the events that took place ten years ago that drove him away from Wounded Sky First Nation, suspense builds and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. Although this book is rooted in Indigenous culture, it can still be appreciated by many for its themes of fitting in, regret, mystery, and suspense. I would rate this book 4.5/5 stars and recommend it to those who are interested in learning more about Indigenous culture as well as the supernatural.
