Ivan, an unusually optimistic preacher, takes in convicts to help around the remote, rural church to which he ministers. One of his helpers, Adam, is a vicious neo-Nazi serving community service time. Grasping the extent of Ivan's preternatutal determination to look on the bright side of everything, Adam decides to shake Ivan out of his rose-colored world.

This movie is funny, heartwarming, and filled with unexpected turns. The actors give humorously touching performances. Mads Mikkelsen shines in his role as an offbeat reverend, who helps ex-cons get back on their feet.

Absolutely fine flick, unexpectedly high level acting, script, score. Enjoyable production, black comedy real.

Not very well done--- Mikkelsen and Thomsen try their best, but the writing really isn't that up to snuff. The soundtrack makes the film verge even more into the realm of melodrama. If you're used to Danish films marked by their subtlety, then this one is not worth your time.
