A great finish to the trilogy. Although I have read the previous two books, this could do well as a standalone. Things from the past books are neatly brought in without making it sound boring and repetitive.
Questions are answered but not spoon-fed. I thought the ending/ reveal was a little rushed.
What I wasn't a fan of were timelines. Apparently, things did not occur as the chapters went but sometimes jumped before the previous chapter, which was slightly confusing. I'm assuming that way the point.
Great character creation. I was invested in all of their stories.

Third book in the Promise Falls Trilogy, full of twists and turns with more murder and mayhem. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Checked this book out without realizing it was part of a trilogy and this is the last book. There is an incredible amount of far fetched action going on in the small town of Promise Falls. I did not like the way the book ended with several loose ends. Linwood Barclay is an engaging storyteller but this isn’t one of his best.

For a small town, sure a lot of tragedy going around. Kind of unsatisfying ends to the story lines. Too many characters and story lines. Instead of a trilogy he should've made into several different stand alone books. He's a good story teller and Iike his style, but long and complicated makes me want to give up. Tho I stayed up late to finish this.

I've read the previous two of the trilogy. This final episode was intriguing. There were so many characters that at times I became lost in the story. Reading the first two books recently would have made the story line progress more smoothly. At times confusing; at other instances more clear. The book was very good and the ending was 'anti-climatic'. A good read overall.

Second of a Promise Falls Trilogy by Linwood Barclay. I have enjoyed both of them both. And they end making you wanting to read the next one.

The book needs to have a few middle pages deleted. Otherwise, it was a good read. Because of the draggy middle section, I almost gave up on the book!

He has an exciting writing style that keeps you hooked, but the story is unbelievable in the extreme. Take Jack the Ripper and multiply the number of dead people by 10. Waste of time.

This book is part of a trilogy. I hadn't read the other two novels that preceded this one. Consequently, I was inundated with the names of many people and with many references to events in the small town that left me wondering if I should continue reading this book as I couldn't see a storyline happening until more than half-way through this novel. Finally, I got the names straight and, with the author's recapping of previous events, I saw the connections; then the story started to come into shape for me. I finally enjoyed the book. Perhaps this novel isn't a stand alone novel, as a reader lacking the background story feels a wash for a good part of the story. However, after reading this novel, I don't think I would want to spend the time reading the other 2 preceding ones in the Promise Falls series - a thin storyline that would be too drawn out for 3 novels.
