From Library Staff

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second film of the much loved Harry Potter prequel. Based on the textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, this will be the second film in the trilogy! Set to hit theatres November of this year!

Kind of hard to imagine a movie version, but if Rowling herself is writing the screenplay, it should be highly interesting! Due to be released in November.

Great fictional encyclopedia for magical beasts, I loved reading it. I don't get why people are saying that it is exactly like the movie, the movie is a story about the "author" Newt Scamander.

This is an amazing book. I feel a little guilty that I love it even more than the original series! Fantastic Beasts and Where To find Them's world is huge, although it takes place all in New York City. It's a fun, exciting, and page-turning read that you will go to over and over again, falling in love with the characters each time. I really loved this book!

The screenplay is quite literally a word for word translation of the movie on which it is based. Unlike Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Fantastic Beasts only adds to the lore of our favorite magical world, and does not arguably damage them like Cursed Child is accused of doing. While there is a plethora of cute art in the book, it does feel like there is so much of it that it adds a good 20-30 pages.

A fun but unsurprising read, good for appreciating the directorial choices and art, but not much else. If you've already seen the movie and are looking for more, do not feel obligated to read this screenplay; you're not missing much.

I don't usually read scripts but I liked the movie and found it more enlightening after reading the screenplay. Maybe that's just because I didn't understand it half the time with their accents and the volume was super low because of my sleeping children ... well anyway, I recommend this for Harry Potter fans but it will be more enjoyable if you've seen the movie already. I'm looking forward to the rest of movies. I believe there are going to be 5 all together.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them (by J.K. Rowling) is about the mystical and magical creatures of the Harry Potter universe. The book was used by the students in the Harry Potter series as a textbook. This book is an encyclopedia, not a chapter book. I wish I went to Hogwarts so I could read the real book with my wizarding friends.

The narrator of the book was Newt Scamander, a magical creature expert. In the book, there are creatures from the “Acromantula”(a giant eight eyed spider) to the “Yeti”(a giant humanoid snow dwelling beast). The book was first released to the wizarding world in 1927.

In Conclusion, I think that this book is really good for Harry Potter fans, or just anybody who wants a good read. I liked the book because it looked really good in my imagination(the book has no illustrations). This book could also encourage people to try to find creatures in the real muggle world. All in all, I rate this book a 10/10!
