This is a remake of a doctor who that was lost/damaged and recreated as an animated episode. There are two disks. One is animated in color and the second disk is the same animated but in black and white. Second disk contains commentary and making of this episode.

A first in the realm of Doctor Who: a lost serial (all episodes missing) recreated through animation. This is Patrick Troughton's first full story and brings up against the Daleks. The Dalek animation is quite good while the rest is okay. This DVD has two discs: one is a colorized version of the story while the second is black and white and includes the special features. The story itself is quite good and although it stretches over six episodes, it's still decently paced with little to no blatant filler. Could it have been compressed by an episode or two? Possibly, but it doesn't make you wish it was. All in all a great Doctor Who and a must watch for any Who completist who until now has only been able to listen to the audio-only version.
