4.5 stars. A page-turner of a book that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. I loved the setting and the ominous tone of the writing. I kept changing my mind about whodunnit until right before the final denouement. I would have to say that this is now my favourite title by Stevens. Amazing!

I love reading her books and finding them set on Vancouver Island and the Okanagan, places I know. I can't wait for her next book.

This is the first novel I've read by this author, and it was pretty good. I could have done without the annoying teenage daughter and the silly idea that an abuser may have miraculously changed, but these were key to moving the story forward, so I'll forgive. Scary, as are all stories of controlling men, interesting twists, and an end I didn't see coming. Overall, I quite enjoyed it.

I feel a bit bad rating this book so low but I found it boring (compared to some of the author's other novels). It felt a bit like a diary and was only exciting at the very end. 'That Night' is my favourite book so far.

I loved this book as I have loved all her books to date. It's a real page turner and keeps you guessing. For me, all her books have been real page turners that keep me up at night reading and taking breaks during my days to read.

Before I read this book, I came across an interview with Chevy Stevens in our local paper. She said she has been criticized for making her earlier books too violent and disturbing, so she wanted to write a more mainstream suspense novel. With `Never Let you Go`,
she succeeded. This is a story of an abusive marriage, and the struggles the woman has in leaving behind her past. The author keeps us guessing throughout the book: is her ex still stalking her, or is there another evil at play? As always, Stevens' characters leap to life, and the book is gripping enough to keep the reader turning the pages.
But there was no edge.
Chevy Stevens is one of the few authors I have read who can write convincingly about what might be considered uncomfortable situations. In the category of Gillian Flynn, Thomas Harris and Peter Swanson. As a loyal fan, I missed the grit of her earlier novels, and hope she returns to her roots with her next book!
