"[A] well-told suspense story...refreshingly realistic."-- The New York Times Book Review

"Danger feels real in the brilliant I See You ...Mackintosh seems destined to do important work for many years to come."-- The Washington Post

"Mackintosh allots her characters the perfect amount of back story, allowing them to carry their own weight throughout the investigation. She also casts enough extras to keep readers guessing who could be behind these attacks...readers may find themselves wanting to reread this one."--Associated Press

"[A] deliciously creepy tale of urban paranoia."--Ruth Ware, New York Times bestselling author of The Woman in Cabin 10

The author of the New York Times bestseller I Let You Go propels readers into a dark and claustrophobic thriller, in which a normal, everyday woman becomes trapped in the confines of her normal, everyday world...

Every morning and evening, Zoe Walker takes the same route to the train station, waits at a certain place on the platform, finds her favorite spot in the car, never suspecting that someone is watching her...

It all starts with a classified ad. During her commute home one night, while glancing through her local paper, Zoe sees her own face staring back at her; a grainy photo along with a phone number and a listing for a website called FindTheOne.com.

Other women begin appearing in the same ad, a different one every day, and Zoe realizes they've become the victims of increasingly violent crimes--including murder. With the help of a determined cop, she uncovers the ad's twisted purpose...A discovery that turns her paranoia into full-blown panic. Zoe is sure that someone close to her has set her up as the next target.

And now that man on the train--the one smiling at Zoe from across the car--could be more than just a friendly stranger. He could be someone who has deliberately chosen her and is ready to make his next move...

A very good read. Good storyline, thrilling to the end and a surprise ending. What more can you ask?

A good read. My least favourite of Clare's 3 books (so far) as I found the endings a bit weak in terms of the set up and development. But notwithstanding worth a go.

Love Clare Mackintosh books. This psychological thriller is no exception.

A woman sees her own photo in an advertisement in the personals section of the newspaper along with a phone number. It’s a non-working number. She is disturbed because it would appear to others that she is a prostitute. It turns out there are more women to whom this happens. Then we learn that some are victims of rape or murder. The police are slow to accept this as a serial crime and there is rivalry between the meek transit policewoman and the tough homicide cop running the main investigation. I can’t give this a strong recommendation as the ending was too predictable and the evil character running the mysterious “Find the One” website was overdone. The dynamics between the officers seems very artificial, too. Up until the end, though, it was engaging enough and kept me interested, so I can give it three stars. I listened to the audiobook and the reader was good.

I thought this was a very interesting storyline and the ending was a surprise, twice over.

I enjoyed the book and I did not know who all was involved. I found the end very interesting to find who all was involved and maybe the story will continue into another book?
The plot does bring to light how we as a society are not paying attention because we are so into our cell phones and GPS to see who is watch you. Someone told me once to not walk the same route in my neighborhood as I was waking home one night in the dusk. I know I need to pay more attention to my surroundings...this book made me think...........about how we post pictures of ourselves for strangers to see us.

I absolutely loved this book. Couldn't put it down. Wonderfully written with a few twists along the way

In the beginning of the book I found the characters a bit confusing but they did clear up quickly, it became an interesting story until almost the ending which I thought was very disappointing. The ending did keep me in suspense, but it felt like the writer was just wanting to end the story so she picked someone to be responsible.

The first book I read by this author was I Let You Go, which I thought was very good, but this one is a let-down.

Not as good as her debut novel but still good enough to keep me reading. Did start to drag a bit at the end.
