It's the summer of 1989. Nine-year-old Ted Henley and his father John are the proprietors of The Mtn. Vista Motel, a crumbling resort buried in the mountains of the American West. Since Ted2s mother left, John has drifted into despondency, becoming a living ghost, haunting the motel, leaving Ted to fend for himself. In this isolation, unchecked by the bounds of parenting, Ted2s darker impulses begin to manifest.

top 10 worst movies of the year. slow?...even that term would be too fast for it. Meaningless and completely uninteresting characters. Avoid and save yourself a couple hours of lifetime. Honestly, there is NOTHING going on in this movie.

Disturbing character study of what happens when a child is deprived of the necessary stimuli to develop normal healthy relationship with his peers and his own Parents. Ted is an intelligent but dark child who longs to escape from the prison that is the Mtn. Vista Motel. His Father's neglect coupled with the absence of his Mother combine to form the underpinnings of an extremely dangerous sociopath. It's going to be interesting to see chapter 2 of Ted's life. He has the potential to outdo Patrick Bateman and Dexter. I look forward to it.

VERY VERY DARK!!!! Moves dark and slow like a creeping fog - reminds me of a Norwegian type film. Riveting in a horrible sort of way.
