One moonlit night, Sophie is snatched from her bed by an awesome giant who whisks her away on a magical and funny adventure. When Sophie learns that a monstrous crew of meanies is gobbling up children, she sets out to stop them once and for all, with the help of her new, rather large, friend. The enchanting children's book from author Roald Dahl comes to life in this classic, animated musical feature.

Much of Roald Dahl is just weird, and this is a good example.

Not as good as the book. my 2 and t5 year old like it, but it does have referance to child eating and other topics you want to be around for. climax was way better in book, and less violent.

The kids enjoyed it, but it came off as an obnoxious acid trip to me. (Hey, maybe that's why they liked it.)

The movie wasn't as good as the book and was a bit strange at times. Overall, it generally followed the book and kids will still enjoy the movie.
