Helps to explain some of the art. I have looked at art like this and often thought the artist was crazy or on drugs. They were influenced by the times they lived in and also maybe a little crazy to survive.

Although fiction, if you are interested in art you will enjoy this account of secrets behind paintings - and painters - featured at Madrid's Prado. You'll never see Renaissance art in the same way again! And you'll want to jet over to Spain...
