This was assigned for a class, which is ridiculous due to its overt religious themes and references. Some of us have trauma related to this and it is not experienced as benign or helpful. I scanned the beginning and decided it was not for…

There's no real artists that use this drivel. A book for the creatives, ie, pseudo artists.

I bought the workbook and borrowed this companion book to go with it. I would give the workbook 5 stars, but this companion book doesn't deserve such a high rating. Almost everything I needed was in the workbook (save a couple exercises…

I had this book checked out for three months but couldn’t finish reading it. The concepts of morning pages and the artist’s date are brilliant (the first couple chapters). After that, the book becomes boring, rambling, and repetitive. It’s…

The Artist's Way is an excellent book for any artist who is feeling stuck. The perfect way to gain success from this book is by working with a life coach or a psychologist. They will motivate you to do the exercises and a…

While some of the philosophy and religious ideas in this book can be off-putting, the underlying concepts and exercises can be quite helpful in discovery your creativity. And while written primarily for full-time professional artists,…

This book worked for me because I was willing to just suspend my disbelief and do what was asked of me by the program.

This is one of the many books recommended by NaNoWriMo & Camp NaNoWriMo.

It is incredible what gets uncovered in the exercises and morning pages. I suggest to ignore the labels ... "artist", "God", "creator"....they only mean whatever you infer into them.

Currently working through this with a group. We've struggled with the "God" and "Great Creator" language in the book. I think if you can replace these terms with whatever works for you (the Universe, the self, whatever) then you can get…

I have been using this book for several years to spur me on. I do Morning Pages and Artists Dates now automatically. I set the book aside for a few months, then pick it back up and do the exercises again. It works well to keep me growing!

Recommended, looked at start, very good for unlocking creativity. On the long "for later" list.

Maybe it's just me, but I actually couldn't get past the introduction. The whole "creativity doesn't come from you, it comes from God" turned me off pretty quick. Maybe I should have stuck with it, but I'm not the kind of person who buys…

This book changed my life! Mostly because I realized that I didn't have a strong connection to what I wanted as an artist. One of the exercises I still use today are the morning pages...do them...you're life will be richer for them! I…

I would take this book and concept with a grain or two of salt, because not everything it espouses is for everyone, and I found not all of it completely rang true with me. That said, the very first book in the series by Julia Cameron has…
