i watched this movie because i LOVE jean-pierre jeunet but this movie was not very good. i blame it on being an adaptation. it was just lacking in the usual abundance of whimsy. i do not desire to seek out the source material. was glad to…

I'm so glad I read the reviews because this is far from a heartwarming movie. As soon as I saw the animal abuse, I turned it off. Too bad, because it had a lot of promise.

I also think it's not a kids movie at least not young kids. The cinematography and imagery are quite beautiful.

Excellent! Another great one by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. It's not a kid's movie, btw.

This movie is a great for the family. It is an adventure, that I wish I could have taken as a child. The boy in extremely smart for his age. He will make a good scientist.

If you have read The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet by Reif Larsen, your expectations might be high for a movie which is about the same character. What we have to remember is that a movie can never duplicate what one has read in a book,…

I thoroughly enjoy this movie' The little boy remind me of that kid from the movie Home alone. Macaulay culkin. kyle Catlett kinda of soft spoken quirky kid and a stream of magic to make the film seem believe able. towards the end…

Very dark (some violence, a little gore, and lots of grief and family dysfunction), not recommended for young children (and possible not for older children either).

SPOILER ALERT A quirky, funny tale about a seven year old kid who accidentally blows his twin brother's brains out in the barn and the ruined family that results. What, you don't think that's a good topic for quirky/funny? No, it's…

I checked out this movie about 5 times, finally got around to watching it. I thought it was quite good, about an intelligent child who was different from his raised environment, but was ever curious of his world. Most adults did not…

Nice overall movie, more than a kid movie, and I think also suitable for younger adults to watch. Incredible views of the countryside of Montana, which you should visit anyway, in case you have not yet. The story of the 10 year old…

Warning: even though the trailer shows a colorful, kid's movie in the style of Tim Burton, this film is very dark and a little too much for younger children to cope with. It is about a child who dies in an accident and how the family…

This movie has some wonderful moments and visuals and beautiful scenery. It was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie, A Very Long Engagement). Though it is classified as a children's movie, I recommend it for adults of all ages and don't…

Warning: if you didn’t like Amélie or Delicatessen you won’t like this one – skip it please and also please don’t read my review any further. But if you do love and appreciate Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s movies, i.e. his quirky characters,…
